The Best Color Ever
What’s the Best Color You Ever Painted Something?
You can still see it in your mind’s eye. Or maybe you are surrounded by it right now. Perhaps it was for you, or designers — for a client. But you could feel it in your gut.
You nailed that color choice.

Tell us the story of your best color ever. Share with us by Leaving a Comment, OR–even better–if you have a photo, share with us in the Challenge Entry Form here.
We Design Junkies want details, so if you remember, tell us the paint brand, the color name or number, and the finish. But mostly describe for us what made you weak in the knees for the color, and why it ended up being a great choice.
To ensure we get a rainbow of replies, a random entrant will win a copy of the new and idea-packed bookazine, “House Beautiful’s 500+ Favorite Paint Colors.”
Read a great review of it here by my friend, special event co-conspirator and color maven-blogger, Sonu Mathew. Sonu was nice enough to send us an
extra copy.
Can’t wait!

Check out all 3 entries:
1. From in Sandy, UT, USA:
I’m new to painting, but I found some cheap end tables in the classified ads that needed some work, and decided to give it a try. I went with what I think is the best color for furniture, black. I used Rust-Oleum’s Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover 2x in Flat Black.
I decided to use spray paint because I figured it would be faster and wouldn’t show mistakes as much, with this being my first attempt at refinishing a piece of furniture.
I love the way my end tables turned out. I think the end tables look like “thrift store vs. Pottery Barn”. I LOVE the black, and wouldn’t have done any other color. It matches everything, and looks very classy and beautiful. Black is the best color ever for furniture!
2. From Michell Kaul in Sheridan, Wy:
I am allergic to white! Every room in my home has color…
The hubby and I recently made a headboard out of Old shutters and I decided to paint the headboard green.
I love the green and gray in our master bedroom…You can see the headboard tutorial on my blog. http://girlinair.blogspot.com/
3. From in Topeka, KS, USA:
Behr Premium Plus Ultra, Eggshell interior in Dusty Olive UL190-5.
It’s a warm, lovely sage green. It makes me so happy to be near it! I\’ve used it in the living room and bathroom of last 2 houses we\’ve flipped and again last weekend in our new home.
