Ta-Da! Challenge # 10 Results
From Textile to Table
A big reward for a bit of creativity. That’s what Rachel in Pleasanton, California celebrates tonight with her $50 Michael’s gift card.
Rachel ran away with the From Textile to Table Challenge by doing one thing: giving it a whirl. Plus she has her delightful serving dish to keep.
This Challenge asked us to look to a fabric design as inspiration for an original dishware design. Here’s Rachel’s project and what she had to say:

For me, the fabric design conjures up images of elaborately covered floor cushions on a terracotta floor, with the sound of the daily call to prayer in the distance, while sandalwood incense wafts around the warm, shaded room.”
The inspiration project was a pottery dish I created using a motif from this chocolate and aqua damask:

So Rachel, email me your address; you’ll want to get going on your next project! And Design Junkies, check out the two open Challenges: Let’s Make Cents and Frugal Fabric Fun.
