Trend Alert — Photo Upholstery

We’re starting to see some fantastic furniture with large-scale photographs on the upholstery. Watch for more of this to come. A striking example is Teo Jasmin out of Paris that my fellow furniture twitterer @tkpleslie of www.tkpartnership.com pointed me to.

You’ll need to save up your Euros for these, but aren’t they glorious? The Eiffel Tower Settee has officially made my wish list.

Is there a statement photo you’d put on a piece of upholstery?

This is one of the most exciting design statements I have seen in a long time. What a great media to work in – I absolutely love each and every piece.

These are great examples. Always admired Chair Couture’s photo fabrics, and these take it one step further. Would love to know how to do this.

Hi Diana,

I too love this photo upholstery piece and wish I knew how apply the photos to fabric on such a large scale. I do know of a manufacturer that puts photos onto leather; found them through the NeoCon show. They are SIF Technology and you should check out the Pantone Chair they made–awesome! But they do this wholesale for retail manufacturers of leather items.

And, wow! Thanks for the tip about Chair Couture–fabulous stuff.
