Customize IKEA Furniture with GRIPPIKS
Want to spice up your plain vanilla IKEA furniture? GRIPPIKS surface accents from Australia make it easy.
Founder Jeff DeRee was inspired by this DIY decoupage dresser project from Martha Stewart, but wanted to come up with a simple, no-mess way of customizing furniture. GRIPPIKS aren’t decals, but pre-cut graphics printed on a new type of film that grips to surfaces through micro suction. This cuts out the need for glue or adhesives.
Designers Liz Roger and Tess McCabe, who studied graphic design at the Queensland College of Art, created the colorful, contemporary patterns. Jeff saw the popularity and clean lines of IKEA’s pieces as a perfect “blank canvas;” GRIPPIKS are pre-cut to fit the precise dimensions of some of IKEA’s most popular items:
- EFFEKTIV storage
- LACK tables
- MALM drawers
And like IKEA pieces, the prices are budget-friendly. To keep costs low, the graphics are offered only through GRIPPIKS’ online store.
